February 23, 2011: Become a Notary
CSA held the first in a series of classes to help our members become Notaries Public. The intent is so that we'll have
many in our ranks who will be able to carry peititions for any candidate or issue that is important to us, regardless of
party affiliation. It was VERY well attended. Thanks Matt Groh for your instruction!
March 11, 2011: CSA's Flanagan Testifies in Support of NYS Tax Cap
Stephen Flanagan, Executive Director of the Conservative Society for Action, testified before a
New York State Assembly Budget panel on the issue of the proposed Property New York State Property Tax Cap.
Flanagan explained how a cap will reduce spending by school districst by limiting their access to tax revenue.
Only with such a cap will districts finally feel compelled to stop the spending madness.

The Tea Party Movement started back in 2009. We started a fire that has grown hotter and hotter.
Thousands of us returned to the original location we held our first tea party rally.
We received a very enthusiastic reception from the people driving by.

Stephen Flanagan of the Conservative Society for Action receives the 13th annual Gipper Award from Ronald
Reagan Club President Robert Savitz. Flanagan let the party leaders in the room know that if they wanted
our support, they had to nominate Conservative candidates.

May 12, 2011: CSA: Tax Cap Will Mean Spending Cuts!

Jun 25, 2011: 2% Property Tax Cap Passes
After decades of fighting, Long Island finally got our tax cap.
Under the cap, which would go into effect for fiscal years in 2012, local governments and school
districts cannot raise their annual property tax levies by more than two percent or the rate of inflation, which ever is lower.

Conservative Society for Action founder Stephen Flanagan reminds members how important it is to "stay the course"
and to "stay on message". Flanagan outlines the original intent of the CSA, including the call for smaller government expressed
decades ago by Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. "We have to compromise today because we don't have control of the
Senate or White House." Our goal for 2012 is to take the Senate and throw Obama out of the White House.

Businessman Bob Turner squared off against career politician David Weprin in a debate in Kew Gardens Hills.
They are both vying to fill the seat vacated by disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner in NY's 9th CD.
Turner spoke about the issues & Weprin pulled out every hackneyed talking point from the Dem smear playbook.

Sep 13, 2011: Bob Turner Wins
Those of us who worked on the campaign were at Turner Headquarters in Howard Beach, Queens awaiting the results.
Walking the district as part of the get out the vote campaign was great. People were psyched.
bob ran as a referendum on Obama's policies and this victory will send shock waves through the country.
It is a great omen for what's to come in 2012

Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan sunk so low, (even for a Liberal Democrat), by demeaning & diminishing his opponent
Tom Croci's distinguished military service. Local veterans were outraged & held a press conference, demanding Nolan
apologize which, of course, he never did.

Nov 27, 2011: Recount names Croci new Islip supervisor
CSA favorite, Tom Croci will be the new Islip Town supervisor come January, after the results of a recount were released.
Suffolk County Board of Elections officials confirmed Tuesday Croci, a Republican, beat Democratic Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan by 343 votes in his first run for public office.

In 2010, CSA worked hard to help elect Jack Martins & Lee Zeldin to the NYS Senate & give some representation to Long Island in Albany. The prior 2 years had seen massive tax & spending increases, including the dreaded MTA Payroll Tax. In their first year in office, our new senators have been able to deliver on our two main priorities. First the Tax Cap & now a middle class tax cut & a repeal of the MTA tax for 75% of the small businesses.
