Brown's Win is a Victory for TEA Party Movement,
NOT Republicans!

All news  reports coming out of Massachusetts indicate that the "Republican" won. That is blatantly WRONG!

The TEA Party Candidate won!

The "mainstream" media, including Fox, somehow made the conclusion that Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele "finally has a major victory". BUT Steele had nothing to do with it.

If you had a chance to listen to Brown's victory speech, you will notice that he hardly mentioned the Republicans. In fact, he called it a "vast independent voter victory". We know he is right because only 16% of the people in Massachusetts are Republicans.

There was only one way for Brown to win and that was to energize the Conservative TEA Party base. And it worked.

Implications for Long Island

The same thing needs to happen in the rest of the country, including Long Island where we have some of the worst Liberal members of congress.

The victory in Massachusetts (and in New Jersey and Virginia and Westchester and Nassau County) are because of YOU!

Your dedication as a member of the Conservative Society for Action or other Conservative grassroots organization is how these victories were achieved.

We must keep up the pressure, especially as nominations are considered for congressional and  statewide races. We MUST keep an open mind. We must listen to all candidates. We must provide them a platform to make their case.

This process does NOT have to be rushed!

We have time to carefully consider all candidates. Do NOT let anyone tell you that we have to make a "quick decision". That is a tactic the Liberals use to force us to make bad decisions.

Understand that the candidate selection process does NOT end with "screenings". That's just the beginning. The major parties will be considering nominations over the next few months -- unless "deals" once again raise their ugly head.

CSA will be holding candidates nights in coming weeks to make sure our members get to know ALL the potential candidates. CSA will not "choose favorites". CSA will not "steer" our members to one candidate or another. CSA will "rate" candidates using our exclusive "town hall vetting process" where all members participate. Dates for these nights will be announced shortly.

Scott Brown's victory was a great achievement for our movement. Let's make sure we continue our success by carefully planning the next steps designed to remove people like Bishop, Israel, McCarthy and Foley. The people of Massachusetts did their part this week.

We have to do our part so we are successful in November!

CSA's Stephen Flanagan Helps Launch Dean Murray Campaign

Conservative businessman and CSA member Dean Murray is running for New York State Assembly in the 3rd district in southwest Brookhaven town (including Patchogue, Coram, and Medford). This is a special election to fill the seat held by Patricia Eddington, who resigned her seat to take a job as Brookhaven Town Clerk.

Dean Murray has attended numerous CSA meetings and is a true conservative. Please click the link below for comments made by CSA's Stephen Flanagan and Dean Murray at a campaign kickoff rally on January 16, 2010:

Note that Murray's opponent is a liberal who has the endorsement of the Working  Families Party -- an ACORN affiliate.

If you would like to help out on this campaign, please call the CSA office: 631-940-2019.

Big News in Governor's Race? Levy a Republican?

Stories are swirling that "deals" have been struck and the big news is about to happen. This involves Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy supposedly switching parties and running for governor as a Republican.

Cleck Here for Newsday's Assessment

CSA has often criticized "cross-endorsement deals" as damaging to the Republican and Conservative Parties and has received assurances from top political leaders that "things are different" and that the selection process for all candidates will be "fair and open".

It remains critical for CSA (and the national conservative movement) that we keep our eyes open and NOT make quick assumptions about candidates, campaigns, or political leaders.

"I urge our members to keep an open mind about candidates and political party leaderships," said CSA's executive director Stephen Flanagan. "There will be lot's of news coming in the next few weeks that could change our perceptions about local elections."

Let's make sure our judgment is not blurred by personal relationships or preconceived notions.

"Objectivity" and "Principal" must be our guide moving forward.

CSA Policy Committee Meetings

The Conservative Society for Action policy meetings on January 11th and 18th.

On the agenda was a meeting with George Demos, Republican candidate for the first congressional district, an update on contacts from other political groups, and a preview showing some of CSA's latest videos.

Mr. Demos, a United States Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement attorney from 2002-2009 spoke about his personal history and political intentions. He then answered questions on a variety of subjects from the committee and seemed to have an excellent handle on the major issues of the day.

At last week’s policy meeting, CSA met with Gary Berntsen, ex-CIA station officer, who has announced his candidacy for Congress in the 1st District. Mr. Berntsen detailed his experience in commanding key elements in the war on terror, especially as they related to the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. He answered numerous questions from committee members.

Both Berntsen and Demos have screened for the Republican nomination for the 1st congressional district.

Judy Pepenella and Steve Flanagan updated the members on the continued outreach CSA has received from both local and national politically active organizations.  Mr. Flanagan has been invited to meet with The National Republican Trust PAC and FreedomWorks in Washington D.C. while Ms. Pepenella received a similar invite from Tea Party Patriots .

CSA also received a request to join a group that opposes the terrorist trials scheduled to be held in New York City. CSA member Gene McGowen – a retired NYC Fire Department Battalion Chief – was selected to represent CSA at that meeting. One CSA member described little known, crippling effects the trial will have on transportation, and by extension, commerce in lower Manhattan.

CSA is opposed to civilian trials for terrorists.

The meeting concluded with the showing of a slick video made on behalf of conservative, Republican candidate, Dean Murray, who is running for the 3rd District seat in the New York State Assembly.  The special election will be held on February 9, 2010.

Other Meetings with Candidates:

At a separate meeting on Tuesday, CSA's Stephen Flanagan and Gene McGowan met with Chris Cox, who has also announced his intension to also run for Congress in the First CD.

Also meeting with CSA this week was Dr. James Milnao, who wants to run against Gary Ackerman. He will be attending the February 8th CSA meeting in Plainview.

NOTE: Policy Committee meetings are held on Mondays and are open to members wishing to be involved with helping to plan and implement CSA activities.

The next Conservative Society for Action general membership meeting will be held on January 28th at the American Legion Hall, 340 Union Blvd., West Islip, at 7:30 P.M.

CSA and Suffolk 9-12 Hit Brian Foley

State Senator Brian Foley held a fundraiser recently in the Bellport Country Club. CSA and Suffolk 9-12 members were waiting for him. Here are a few photos so you can see how Mr. Foley was greeted:

Foley was the deciding vote for the MTA payroll tax, the deciding vote to eliminate the Star property tax rebate, and the deciding vote for the largest budget and tax increases in New York State history. Now he's running on a platform to "reduce taxes".

Foley has NOT represented Long Island and needs to be removed from office. Check the "Foley's Follies" video in the video section below.
