CSA Hosts Huge Meeting in Plainview
By James Soviero

The Conservative Society for Action held a general membership meeting in the packed Plainview Public Library Auditorium on January 12th. There were 225 people in attendance, including three announced candidates running against Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy in the 4th CD. The trio included Dan Maloney, Rich Petrone, and Frank Scaturro. They all introduced themselves and took unscreened, no holds barred questions from a highly energized, well-informed crowd.

Also represented were half a dozen politically active organizations from both on and off Long Island. The National Republican Trust PAC came from Washington DC, while Right Principles made the trip from Connecticut. Local groups included Individuals United for Freedom, Merrick Tea Party, Queens Tea Party, Nassau/Queens 9/12 Project, Suffolk 9-12 Project, and members of the Nassau and Suffolk Conservative, Republican and Independence Parties.

The evening was marked by many highlights. A great number of people from the different organizations added their names to the ever growing CSA membership roles. A common theme was "we must stand together in order to "take our country back".

There were also a number of young people enthusiastically planning their own Conservative Society for Action group called "CSA - the Next Generation".

A high point for many may have been the very clever parody video, "Where in the World is Carolyn McCarthy?" It got a rousing response, and proper credit was given to the father and teenage son who created it.

Throughout the meeting CSA founder Stephen Flanagan reviewed the numerous successful actions taken in the past year and goals that must be met in 2010. His comments were consistently met with loud and sustained applause especially when he addressed the need for our elected officials to represent the will of their constituents.

Specifically mentioned was the overwhelming public dissatisfaction with the current health care bills and Long Island congressional representatives Bishop, Israel, and McCarthy for voting with the highly unpopular Nancy Pelosi no less than 98% of the time!

The event was filmed by PBS as part of a documentary they plan on Nassau County Politics.

The next Conservative Society for Action general membership meeting will be held on January 28th at the American Legion Hall, 340 Union Blvd., West Islip, at 7:30 P.M.

Just In Case Your Missed This One at Halloween Time:

It is Time for the States to Step UP and Defend America!

WE MUST TAKE WASHINGTON TO COURT!

There are a number of states (including South Carolina and Tennessee) that are talking about challenging the Constitutionality of the health care bill as it is written.

Believe it or not, there is language in the bill that prohibits Congress from making future changes to the certain portions of the bill. We can amend the Constitution but not the health care bill? You've got to be kidding!

That HAS to be unconstitutional.

Also, the bill creates different sets of payment regulations for different states. For example, if a state senator was "on the fence" and they needed to "buy his vote", Congress and the White House changed regulations for that state to reduce that state's costs.

This is separate regulations for separate states so that some states pay more than others for the same regulations!

THIS IS SCANDAL CLEAR AND SIMPLE!
THIS IS INSTITUTIONAL CORRUPTION!

There will always be corrupt individuals, but this is INSTITUTIONAL CORRUPTION that has become ACCEPTABLE to our representatives.

STATES MUST RISE UP AND FIGHT THIS!

The States need to follow through on their threats to challenge this legislation in Court. We must start calling attorneys general around the country and encourage their efforts to TAKE WASHINGTON TO COURT!

Sincerely,

Stephen Flanagan, Founder & Executive Director
